Lombard Trophy pro-am partners were pipped at the post on their campaign for a place in the Gleneagles final, finishing joint fourth at the Pollok stage earlier this month.

Stuart Reekie, professional at East Renfrewshire golf club, and his amateur golfing partner Colin Graham, finished their game 5-under par on the 66-par course, the winner going forward on 7-under.

The pragmatic pro said it was great to get so far in the prestigious tournament, summing their efforts ups as: “Close but no cigar”.

On the up side, however, Reekie won the East Renfrewshire pro am charity singles tournament a week earlier.
