Lee Lucas to join Motherwell
’Well manager Mark McGhee revealed that the revenue received from Marvin Johnson’s recent sale had helped fund a deal for the 24-year-old former Swansea City player.
“Lee will sign until Christmas,” McGhee said.
“If we were better off I would sign him until the end of the season.

“Hopefully Lee will do very well between now and the January transfer window. Then we could maybe offer him another contract until the end of the season.”
McGhee expects Lucas – who played in a Betfred Cup tie against Annan in July after signing a short term deal which then expired on August 31 – to be a substitute for the home encounter with Hamilton Accies this Saturday.
“I don’t think Lee can play in our 4-4-2 formation yet,” the Fir Park boss added.

“The day we play three in midfield, Lee will be starting.
“Given the fact that Carl McHugh (delayed concussion) is still out, Lee is an important signing for us.
“He is a better passer than Craig, Las or Carl.”
