St Mary's mums furious at Lanark school move
St Mary's Primary School parents' anger was stoked by safety fears over transporting the 120 pupils over two winters, with memories of the Lanark Grammar bus crash tragedy earlier this year still raw.
A deputation of six mums, who claimed to represent the majority view of St Mary's parents, came to the Gazette offices to make their discontent known.

Hide AdSouth Lanarkshire Council plans to decant their youngsters to the now redundant Crawforddkye Primary in Carluke while the Lanark school undergoes a complete modernisation.
A parent spokeswoman said: "It's hard to believe that the council is going ahead with this — possibly as early as next month — with no meaningful consultation with the parents."
A council spokeswoman said a roadshow was held for parents and carers on August 25 to advise of the decant proposal.
She added: "A review of existing accommodation within the Lanark area was undertaken and no suitable accommodation was identified."
