Not everyone got the chance to hold the Queen’s Baton — but primary age children attending Maxwell Mearns Castle holiday club will be treated to some Games action of their own next week.

The whistle blows on Fit for a King holiday club at 10am on Monday, running until August 8.

Reverend Dr Scott Kirkland said: “It’s lovely to see our church once more being at the heart of the community and encouraging our children.”

Another Fit for a King club will run at Eaglesham Parish Church this week — both 10am-12.30pm.
