Asghar is accused of selling fireworks illegally from a van at Draffen Tower, Motherwell, on October 8 last year.

It’s also claimed he stored the fireworks in his van without a licence and didn’t take measures to secure them properly in order to reduce the risk of fire or an explosion.

He is charged with illegally selling fireworks to a trading standard officer at Draffen Tower.

Further charges relate to the storage and supply of fireworks in a car park behind a pub in Carluke and in Main Street, Newmains, in November last year.

Asghar, reprented by solicitor Stephen MacBride, pleaded not guilty and trial was set for January 29.
