Carnwath Gala Day 2014 Slideshow
That glowing assessment was made by Gala treasurer Irene Neville, who said she was greatly impressed by the quality of procession entrants and the performances of Gala Queen Megan Tweedie and her court.
“The weather was dry all day which definitely helped make it a sensational day,” said Irene.

“And the outfits were lovely, including Bolero jackets that the maids were wearing over their dresses. They looked very smart.”
Megan’s crowning by Lindsay Stuart took place in King George V Park at noon, with an impressive turnout of locals to see all the festivities. Queen Megan was joined on stage by Maids Shannon Kennedy, Carenza Bradshaw, Alex McCabe and Amelia Knights and Pages Lachlan Campbell, Jamie Inglis and Martin Tait.
“The highlight of Gala Day for me was seeing so many people turning out to watch the crowning and enjoying all the rest of the fun.”
