John at the Avenue
The Glasgow-born, American-twanged actor, singer, dancer, musical theatre performer, writer and television personality (have we missed anything?) was in Newton Mearns to promote the latest string to his bow — his second novel.
John appeared at the Avenue’s Waterstones store to sign copies of Bone Quill, co-written with sister Carole Barrowman, who also paid a visit.

The TV personality, who played Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who as well as the spin-off, Torchwood, caused a hold-up at the centre as hundreds of fans queued up to have their copy signed.
Michelle McCabe, centre manager at The Avenue, said: “This was without question the most successful book event we’ve ever hosted.
“We had over 700 enthusiastic fans flock to the mall eager to meet John and Carole in the flesh and snap up their exciting new book.
