Val Donoghue takes over at Belstane Stables
For, just a few weeks after the shock resignation of Ian Semple's replacement Noel Wilson, Irishman Val Donoghue has been appointed as caretaker head trainer...but only until Wilson's former assistant Keith Dalgleish gets his trainer's licence and takes over on a permanent basis from February 2011.
"The facilities here couldn't be better and I'm getting on very well with everybody," said Val (39), who has worked for top trainers Jenny Pitman and Oliver Brady and since 2005 trained 42 winners from his Irish stables.
