ROSEBANK’S Craig Forrest made sure there was more Scottish swimming success to celebrate as he won the Great Scottish Swim.
However, 40-year-old Craig’s success was not in the confines of the heated Tollcross pool which saw success in the Commonwealth Games for Team Scotland’s Hannah Miley, Dan Wallace and Ross Murdoch but the freezing cold choppy waters of Loch Lomond.
Indeed the race had to be postponed by 20 minutes due to the sighting buoys being blown off course.
Craig, who works at Rosebank Garden Centre, won the two mile race in an impressive time of 42mins 45 seconds.
He said: “The water was very choppy to begin with which made things very difficult but I really enjoyed it.
“You couldn’t see where you were going and when you were breathing the waves were catching you. But I was really motivated to go into the lead and it was great to win.”
