One of the most famous footballers ever – Paul Gascoigne – is coming to Motherwell on Saturday, October 24.
Motherwell Civic Theatre will be the venue for Paul Gascoigne – an Evening With The Legend, in association with European Boxing Federation.
The 48-year-old former Rangers and England star will take to the stage in front of a 1000 crowd to tell his life story, before answering questions from the audience in a half hour Q and A session.
The evening will also feature appearances by football legends, a memorabilia auction and a raffle.
Organiser Frank Gilhooley, boss of Bellshill-based Fighting Scots Gym, said: “We have been working on this for several months and are delighted to have got Gazza on board.
“He’ll be talking about the several ups and downs in his life and I would imagine that the tickets will sell out very quickly.
“It is an exclusive one-off gig and I know that Paul is very happy to be doing it.
“This year marks the 20th anniversary of Paul starting out in Scottish football and his time playing north of the border represented some of the happiest times of his life.”
Gazza’s football career included spells at hometown team Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough, Everton, Burnley, Gansu Tianma and Boston United.
In recent years his life has been blighted by alcoholism, mental and emotional problems.
Tickets, priced £39.50 (standard) and £125 (VIP) are now available for the evening, which will start at 7 for 7.30pm.
