Kirkintilloch Olympians in top form in Perth.

A total of 72 Kirkintilloch Olympians travelled to the Central Athletics Club Championships last Saturday, with many taking home medals from the event.

In the junior categories the athletes took home gold with Jack McCabe winning the 200m U17s race and Sally McCauley taking first place in the 100m U13s sprint.

Elsewhere,Jamie Stevenson won his U13s 200m run, while Logan Sirel won his 800m race and Holly Kirkwood won her 100m U11s race.

In the senior categories Alan Forbes re-gained his KO club champion’s status.

Also, John Pugh, Annmarie McGregor and Annmarie McCaffrey flew round the 1500m race with gut-busting times, while David Gates threw a fantastic javelin distance.

Finally, Ken Lee showed he had all the attributes of the legendary Alan Wells in his 200m dash event.

Sunday saw yet another great turnout for the Stirling 10k, in the shadows of the Ochil Hills, with the seniors running in great form.

Again, to mention but a few, Louis O’Hare recorded a 33-minute time, with Robert Bartlett 38.39; Sean Casey, 40.07; Annmarie McCaffrey, 40.42; all recording competitive times.

Paul Reilly, also finished in 44 minutes in training for his Loch Ness Marathon on September 28.
