TERRIFIC tumbler Jude Hilson is already a gymnastics star at the tender age of 10.
Jude, who lives in Kirkmuirhill and is a member of Lanark Gymnastics Club, grabbed a silver medal at the recent Scottish Tumble Championships which also guarantees her a semi-final berth at the upcoming British Championships.
She is also a member of the Scotland squad having gained a place there despite having only been tumbling for six months.
Proud mum Clare said: “She had always wanted to do gymnastics and she is just a natural; the success she has had in a short time has been unbelievable.
“We were really just going to the championships for some experience but it was incredible for her to come away with a silver medal.”
Jude, who attends Milton Primary in Lesmahagow, was not the only member of the Lanark club to participate in the championships.
Joining Jude was seven-year-old Ava Paterson, from Carluke, who came third in her event.
The success of both girls has delighted Lanark club coach Morven Alder.
Morven said: “I was so pleased for Jude and Ava and the way they performed.
“Both are naturals and have come on leaps and bounds over the last few months.”
