The Bishopbriggs side, only formed in 2011, made it through to the last 16 of the tournment for the fuirst time last week when they hammered Stonehaven 6-1.

That has earned Martin Lauchlan’s side an away tie with 2014 winners Hurlford United and the ‘Vale boss was thrilled with his side’s showing.

He said: “We were brilliant, everything just clicked.

“It was a great performance. We knew it was going to be a tough game because they had already beaten two sides in our league in Shotts and St Anthony’s and the boys were really focussed.

“Their keeper was the man of the match which tells its own story and the boys thoroughly deserved the chance to go further.”

However the Hurlford tie, due to be played on February 13, is on the back burner for now as ‘Vale look to maintain their drive for a second successive promotion.

They currently sit second in the table, four points behind Renfrew but with three games in hand.

They haven’t lost since going down to Thorniewood in September - their only league defeat so far - and have racked up 59 goals in their 17 league and cup games to date.

Lauchlan added: “The run we’ve been on has meant we have been gathering momentum and the way we’re playing it’s going to be hard for anyone to stop us.”

Rossvale could potentially be at home to Johnstone Burgh again in the New Copin Holdings West of Scotland Cup following this week’s third round draw.

However both will have to win tricky second round ties with Super League Ayrshire opposition first, Rossvale against Cumnock and Burgh against Irvine Meadow.
