The New Year may only be a few days old, but one Carluke teenager is all set to represent Scotland in her chosen sport.
Emma Clarkson (19) will star for Scotland’s indoor volleyball team travelling to Luxembourg to take on the host country, Germany and England in a four nation tournament from January 5 to 9.
Former Carluke High School pupil Emma, who broke into the senior side in October as Scotland travelled over the water to play Ireland, said it was a huge honour to be picked again.
She added: “When I first found out that I would be playing for the senior team I was shocked and amazed.
“Earlier in 2011 I had been in the age group squads for games in Belgium and down in Sheffield but to represent your country at senior level is a big thing.”
