SEVENTEEN-year-old Biggar High School pupil Rachel Barr has landed a leading equestrian role at this summer’s Olympic Games in London.
Rachel, of Quothquan, is one of only nine people from throughout the UK selected to assist at the three day eventing in Greenwich Park from July 28 to 31.
The Lanark and Upperward Pony Club member said: “I’m thrilled to be going to the Olympics.
“It is a huge achievement and I’m sure it’s something I will learn a huge amount from and I’ll have great memories of.
“I’ve never done something like this before but I’m sure it will be an absolutely brilliant experience.”
