Popular convenience food brands Rustlers and Feasters are recalling some of their hot dogs due to faulty packaging that could result in the product being unsafe to eat.

This is everything you need to know, including what to do if you’ve been affected by the recall.

The Rustlers and Feasters hot dogs are being recalled due to a possible “seal integrity problem” which could affect the shelf life of the product.

The Food Standards Agency said that this packaging fault could make the products “unsafe to eat”.

How to check if you’re affected

If you’ve purchased either the Rustlers classic hot dog single or double pack, then you’ll need to check the use by date. This can be found on the front of the pack, at the bottom left.

The recalled products have a use by date of 15 to 30 June 2020.

The Feasters recall affects the single pack, costing £1. You can check if your Feaster pack has been recalled by also checking the use by date, found on the front of the packaging at the bottom left.

The recalled Feasters hot dogs also have a use by date of between 15 and 30 June.

What to do if you’ve been affected

If you’ve bought any of the recalled products, you’re advised not to eat them, and instead return the items to the store you bought them from for a full refund.

The recall notice says you can do this “with or without a receipt”.
