Firefighters rescued a woman from a car after it collided with a tree near Crawfordjohn this morning.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews from Lesmahagow and Biggar were sent to the scene of the incident on the B797 Abington to Leadhills road, near Crawfordjohn, in response to a call from ambulance control made around 8:05am.
The incident commander, Watch Manager John Carrick, said: “The car had left the roadway and gone into woodlands leaving a woman trapped inside.
“We stabilised the vehicle and moved to free her from the vehicle. This involved using hydraulic cutting equipment to remove its roof, which created access for paramedics to assess her condition.”
After being safely released the casualty was moved to a waiting ambulance and taken to Wishaw General Hospital.
