POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road crash near Elvanfoot yesterday afternoon.
At around 1.20pm, a Scania articulated cattle float was involved in a collision with a Scania articulated lorry on the M74 near the Upperward village.
The 49-year-old driver of the cattle float was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 45-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Constable Kenneth Beeby from Road Policing in Motherwell said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.”
