Stanmore’s start to Christmas

MANY folk around Lanark - especially the friends and supporters of the town’s Stanmore House School - regard the true starting date of the Festive Season to be that school’s annual Christmas Bazaar.

This year’s event, with its usual array of entertainment, stalls and other attractions, was declared open by Provost Eileen Logan after an introduction from the head of the charity running the school, Capability Scotland’s Chief Executive Dana O’Dwyer.

As ever, much of the entertainment at the bazaar was provided `in house’ with a choir and band made up of pupils and staff performing a selection of Yuletide favourites.
