JUDGES Jean Young from Holywood and Clare McGinley from Thornhill had their work cut out for them on Sunday when they took on the difficult task of judging the scarecrow competition in Douglas.
As usual, competitors had set their imaginations to work to dream up inventive and humorous designs for the annual contest.
The Scarecrow competition is part of Douglas Flower Show and each year the standard goes up and people are more inventive.
This year each class from the Primary School also took part, creating a Scarecrow which was very hard to judge.
“Overall the standard was very high, making it difficult to pick winners,” said the judges.
“The effort put into all scarecrows was wonderful. What a great community project!
“Well done to everybody who took part.”
The Overall Winner, Most Inventive and Funniest will be announced at the Flower show on Saturday September 5.
