A CALL has gone out for Scottish Health Minister Alex Neil to step into the long, long-running saga of the vacant Law Hospital site.
It comes from the area’s veteran South Lanarkshire Council member David Shearer following the Gazette’s revelation that, 12 years after the hospital’s closure, efforts to put the vast site to a new use were REVERSING rather than going forward!
David said: “These were twelve wasted years; a missed opportunity for building a new, model sustainable village on the site that would be an example to the whole of Scotland of what the future should be.”
In view of those long delays, David is now writing to his fellow Nationalist, the Health Minister, to ”get things moving”.
