BUDDING Indiana Jones’s from Biggar High School became archaeologists by exploring and researching the local heritage site of Boghall Castle.
First year pupils took part in a three-day assignment at farmland on the historic site, once one of the largest and most imposing castles in the south of Scotland.
The youngsters surveyed, mapped and analysed with a little help from members of Biggar Archaeology group.
Head teacher Robert Stewart said: “This event gave pupils a real flavour of local history. They really enjoyed it.
“We now hope to set up our own archaeology club and do more work with Biggar Museum Trust.”
