AN issue that’s had Lanarkians arguing amongst themselves since the War – and probably even longer than that – has resurfaced once again.
What can be done to cut down accidents and prevent traffic jams at Steels Cross, where the main road into the town from Carluke meets the Clyde Valley traffic coming up Kirkfieldbank Brae?
And, as in the past, there are three very different opinions about the possible solution to the problem of the A73 and A72 meeting at this junction.
The options are to build a roundabout, put up traffic lights or do neither and just hope that drivers act sensibly.
