Newton Mearns to Barrhead road to close for nearly a month

A major road between Newton Mearns and Barrhead is set to close for four weeks.

Aurs Road will be closed to traffic between its junctions with Stewarton Road and Springfield Road from Tuesday, July 9, until Monday, August 5.

The closure is to allow for ground investigation drilling works to be carried out safely in the area.

Due to temporary scaffolding which will be erected on or across the road, there will be no access for any through traffic, including emergency service vehicles.

Vehicular access to properties within the closure area may be permitted by the contractor on site when possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

The alternative route is Aurs Road – Stewarton Road – Nitshill Road – Darnley Road – Aurs Road and vice-versa.
