POLICE Officers in Hamilton are continuing enquiries and appealing for assistance from the media and the public in tracing a young woman missing from the town.
Cheryl Leggat (or McKinley) (28) of Hamilton, was last seen around 12.30pm on Friday July 3, on Burnbank Road, near to Peacock Cross, Hamilton.
Cheryl is described as around 5ft 6 inches in height, of slim build, with very long dark or black hair and blue eyes. She also wears glasses. When last seen, she was wearing a red ‘Just Eat’ tshirt, black leggings and black pumps.
Sergeant Lyndsey Milloy of Hamilton Police Office, said: “Understandably, Cheryl’s family are very concerned for Cheryl, as it is out of character for her to not contact them for this length of time.
“We know from our enquiries that she frequents the Hamilton area and has some links to Lanark. However she has been known to travel further afield to Blackpool.
I would like to ask anyone who has any knowledge of Cheryl’s current location to contact police on 101.”
