THE date June 22, 2014 looks set to live long in the memories of hundreds of Clydesdale folk, five of them in particular.

For a quintet has been chosen to bear the Queen’s Baton through our area that day on its way to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Clydesdale’s big day on the world stage will start at 8am that Sunday when, in Lanark town centre, a piper and a Clydesdale horse will greet the baton.
