MSP Claudia Beamish visited Gaza on a four-day fact-finding mission.
Claudia, from Clydesdale, was part of a delegation, organised by the Council for European-Palestinian Relations, to see first-hand the devastation of recent violence in the region and the humanitarian crisis that it has caused.
The visit allowed the delegation, made up of representatives from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Poland and Portugal, to gain a broader knowledge of conditions in Gaza.
The escalation of violence in the region as Israel launched a military offensive against Gaza in mid-November was ended following Egyptian-led negotiations to secure a ceasefire.
“Being part of the delegation was a challenging and, at times, distressing experience that has really opened my eyes to the suffering of the people there,” said Claudia on her return.
