Local Girl is an inspiration to all budding musicians.
A local lass is celebrating receiving an accolade for best student.
At the recent National Youth Brass Bands of Scotland (NYBBS) summer school, Braehead girl Aileen Orr was awarded the NYBBLET award which is given for the best student overall.
Aileen started playing the trombone in school via the South Lanarkshire Instrumental Music Service and has recently gained a place at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Aileen said: “I hope my recent successes are an inspiration to the pupils who are only just starting their music journey this term.”
