LANARK Racecourse reverberated to the sound of pounding hooves again during the annual Lanimer Ride Out.
Some 70 horses set out from Lanark Cross, heading round the boundaries and up to the Racecourse for the annual races. These were halted after a visitor was injured – he is on the mend – but were completed on Lanimer Day.
The Ride-out continued in warm sunshine into New Lanark, where the Village Group provided a welcome cup of tea, and presented the Loving Cup to Lanimer Queen-elect Jenna Bruce.
Prizes for the races which had been held were presented before the riders continued on their way.
Freelance photographer Sarah Peters was on hand to capture the action for the Gazette and her pictures are featured in our slideshow, created for you by Johnston Press communities hub deputy editor Julie Currie. Grab a cuppa, curl up and enjoy!
