LANARK had the most glorious weather for Lanimer Day, with beautiful sunshine and temperatures up into the 20s bringing people out on to the streets from early in the morning to bag a vantage point for the procession.
Thursday was the culmination of a week of celebrations, summed up by Provost Eileen Logan as a “spectacular feast”.
But you don’t have to take Eileen’s word for it – freelance photographer Sarah Peters was on hand to capture all the action for the Gazette.
And Johnston Press communities hub deputy editor Julie Currie has created a slideshow of all Sarah’s procession pictures to help you soak up the day. Make sure you also check out our crowning ceremony and Beating the Retreat slideshows too, folks!
