Latvian pianist Gouda Indriunaite will perform in a free concert in New Lanark this Sunday, July 24, at 3pm.
She is the latest to play in the summer series organised by Music in Lanark.
“Her biography is amazing,” said the groups’s chairman Jamie Hill. “She has won 32 International Piano Competitions throughout Europe.
“We really are privileged to have pianists of this quality coming to play for us.
The afternoon piano recitals, in The Institute at New Lanark, are being given to show off the new Kawai piano which Music in Lanark was able to acquire thanks to sponsorship from Border Biscuits and donations from its audiences and supporters.
The group regards the piano as a community asset, and is inviting the community to come along and hear it played, free of charges.
After Sunday’s concert there are further dates on August 7 and August 21,
