THE hunt continues for the “desperate” person who robbed a Carluke bookmakers at knifepoint.

The police have issued an appeal for information which could lead to the arrest of the robber who struck at the Ladbrokes branch midway up High Street in broad daylight on Saturday, October 4.

A spokesman said: “At 9.40am a person entered the premises by the back door and threatened staff with a knife before leaving by the back door in possession of a three figure sum of money.

“Police and an ambulance attended and a staff member received medical treatment at the scene as they were extremely shaken.

“The suspect is described as being around 5 feet 9 inches tall and of slim build. He was wearing a dark blue and black jacket along with a patterned woollen hat and mask.”
