Hollybeth’s star is in its ascendency - over NYC

A young talent has left her homeland and headed off to the States to make it big in the movies, as the dream goes.

Yet, a driven and dedicated Hollybeth Gourley is living the reality that, for many, becomes little more than a fading dream.

At just 18, she was accepted as an international student with the renowned starmaker academy, the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

As young as five, the Mearns primary pupil knew exactly where she wanted to go in life, attending drama classes run by Eastwood Theatre, Albertslund Hall and Fairweather Hall.

Through high school at Hutchesons grammar, Hollybeth went on to attend classes with the Citizens Theatre and the Tron before studying for several years at the UK Theatre School in Glasgow.

She studied dance with the Scottish Ballet School and has performed at the Scottish Variety Club Awards and at the DEBRA ball.

Proud mum Karen Gourley is delighted at her daughter’s success and keep up with her by video call and social media.

Karen told The Extra: “She loves living in New York and immersing herself in the superfast pace over there. She is quite literally living her dream.”
