Dutch fiddler Tim Kliphuis makes a welcome return to New Lanark Institute when he performs for Music in Lanark on Saturday, October 8, at 7.45pm.

He is a legend in the Gypsy jazz world through his work with Fapy Lafertin, Angelo Debarre and others.

Tim and his trio, with Scottish virtuosos Nigel Clark on guitar and Roy Percy on bass, are joined by David Newton, voted the UK’s top jazz pianist for the last 15 years, in a joyous celebration of Grappelli’s music, performed with breath-taking mastery.

Expect barn-storming Django Reinhardt favourites, Oscar Peterson and Duke Ellington, but also some beautiful Grappelli originals such as La Chanson de Rue and Valse du Passé.

Tickets are £12.50 at Lanark Memorial Hall’s box office on 01555 667999.
