Cocaine and cannabis seized in Carluke

Cocaine and cannabis worth more than £140,000 were recovered following a search of a property in Carluke yesterday.

Police officers attended the property at Unitas Crescent shortly after 6pm on Thursday (July 8).

Drugs with an estimated street value of £142,000 were recovered, along with more than £2000 in cash.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is expected to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court at a later date.

Sergeant Greig Baxter, from the divisional alcohol and violence reduction unit, said: “We are committed to tackling the supply of controlled drugs in Lanarkshire and pro-actively target the individuals intent on causing harm to our local communities.

"However, we rely on the support of the public to help us take action to disrupt the drug trade.
