A FAMILY who narrowly made their holiday flight slated local cab firm Go Taxis this week.

Because, they claimed, it was thanks to the firm that their holiday nearly started with disaster.

Unemployed Russell Paterson (41), of Dunard Court, Carluke, said: “I had arranged for Go Taxis to pick us up at 3.45am and paid £80 in advance.

“I asked them to phone us five minutes beforehand so we could get our suitcases sorted.

“But we didn’t get any phone call and just waited and waited until it got to 5.10am.

“My future mother-in-law, who has to take six to eight tablets a day for heart problems, was up to high doh.”

The family’s nightmare experience began on the morning of Thursday, September 13.

They were trying to get to Glasgow Airport to make a 7am holiday flight.

When the taxi didn’t arrive, Russell – who is partially sighted and takes daily medication for arthritis in his knees – said he frantically made repeated calls to Go Taxis but only reached an answering machine.
