Can all athletes line up for the pram race, please?

It was sunshine and smiles for the Bellahouston Road Runners as they celebrated their 15th anniversary recently. More than 100 members and their families joined the party at Pollok Park, racing 100m, 200m and mile relays as well as novelty races such as the pram dash, the egg and spoon and comedy relays. The competitors ages ranged from under one-year-old to super veterans, everyone giving their best efforts with purple vests competing alongside Thomas the Tank Engine T-shirts.

Social convener Marie Sherrado said: “it was a great day and a chance for Bellas and their families to let their hair down. The bull ride and bouncy castle were big hits with young and old alike.”

Club president Brian O’Donnell added: “We’ve had a great first 15 years. The club has grown from modest beginnings to a 200-strong membership. We work hard to combine the social side with running success.”
