Busby kids are in the digital fast lane

Busby Primary has been presented with a Digital Schools Award for its go-ahead approach to learning about information technology.

Welcoming the distinction, acting head teacher Mark Weir said: “Everyone at Busby Primary is extremely proud to have accepted the Digital Schools Award as recognition for all of the fantastic learning that takes place within the school.

“The awards ceremony was a rewarding experience and our Head Boy and Head Girl presented examples of their learning in a very professional manner”.

He added: “In gaining the award, the assessors were impressed by the range of opportunities given to our pupils as an integral part of their classwork.

“These include real life links to the world of work and the role that digital technologies will play in the future lives of our pupils.

“This was best exemplified by a group of Primary 7 pupils being the only Primary School representatives at the Apps for Good Showcase in Edinburgh, where they were able to demonstrate working prototypes of apps created in school.”
