"My sister thought they were soft toys until one of them moved," said one visitor.
The alpacas, from the Andes and originally bred by the Incas from llamas, were from Gilmour Bank Farm in Lockerbie.

Hide AdThis year's show boasted over 500 sheep, 130 cattle and 140 horses up for judging.
"It has been a phenomenal turnout and one of the best shows of livestock in Scotland," said President Duncan Allison.
Supreme 2010 champion was a Texel shearling tup, Aultmore Punk Rocker, from John Tough, of Easterseat Farm, Carluke.
He had taken a first at Lesmahagow and Stirling shows and had been interbreed champion at Stonehouse.

Hide AdOn Saturday he was judged Texel champion, sheep interbreed and then overall show champion.
"This is his moment of glory today," said John.
