Today’s tank regiment – technically “cavalry” – is the modern-day descendant of the Greys, who charged to glory and destruction at Waterloo on June 18, 1815.
As part of the bicentenary commemoration Alex, pictured right, joined hundreds of fellow veterans (including troopers in 1815 uniform) for a spectacular ceremony in Edinburgh. Alex also joined comrades at a display in Kilmarnock, birthplace of Ensign Ewart, who captured one of just two Napoleonic eagle standards taken in the battle.
