AN influx of 13,000 visitors to Clydesdale could be the massive economic spin-off for the area if it should win its bid to stage the National Mod.
As reported, Clydesdale’s MSP Aileen Campbell has been gathering support for her plan to persuade the organisers of the annual festival of Gaelic song, poetry and writing to come here in 2018.
Since the bid was announced a fortnight ago, expressions of support have come from several different bodies around Clydesdale.
Carluke Development Trust, Biggar Little Festival and Lanark Community Council, among others, are backing the scheme.
