ALMOST single-handedly, a former Clydesdale Writer in Residence has breathed new life into the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France.

And he’s done it with laughter.

One of the hit stocking-filler gifts at Christmas was a VERY Franco-Scottish cartoon book, the first-ever translation into Scots of one of the world-famous Asterix the Gaul adventures, first published in France back in the Sixties and shortly afterwards translated into the ‘Queen’s English’.
