A CARLUKE pub is paying homage to American show Man v Food – by creating its own extraordinary eating challenge.

The Kirkton Inn is tempting punters to take on its mammoth Man v Food Challenge.

Staff claim it is Scotland’s biggest burger, boasting SEVEN six-ounce burgers complete with bacon and cheese.

And if you include chips, onion rings and salad, it adds up to five and a half pounds of punishing protein and all-consuming carbs – and an unbelievable 8,300 calories!

The Kirkton Challenge’s rules are simple: you have one hour to complete it, you cannot go to the toilet or outside and you win a t-shirt if you complete it.

Fail and you will take your place in the Wall of Shame.

And, sadly, that’s exactly where the Gazette’s Ross Thomson has ended the challenge was just too big for him. Read all about it in this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
