Meet Michael LaValette, interior design enthusiast and ex-Glasgow School of Art alumni who now wants to turn his love of all things stylish into your very own home makeover inspiration, working with well-known soft furnishing and interiors brand Plumbs.

His passion for colours, textures and stylish palettes was honed in one of Scotland’s hubs of creativity. The School of Art’s former pupils include actors Peter Capaldi and Robbie Coltrane, singer Sharleen Spiteri, former illustrator turned presenter Muriel Gray, and of course, Scotland’s iconic interior designer and style guru, Charles Rennie McIntosh.

Michael brings all of that history to his present job as an interior soft furnishings consultant for Plumbs, covering the city of Glasgow and beyond, from Drymen to Strathaven and everywhere in between, with offers available on furniture curtains, covers and reupholstery.

“Having studied at Glasgow School of Art, my background is very much designed focussed, giving me the vision to help my customers when choosing fabrics to complement their homes.

He works throughout the Glasgow and Motherwell area and arranges home visits to talk to the owners about what they hope to achieve, what their own style tastes are and then makes a range of suggestions, working with the customer to find their perfect pairings.
