GREYFRIARS in Lanark is welcoming the Watoto children’s choir from Africa to the church tonight, Wednesday May 27, for a concert.
The choir is made up of children who have lost parents and who are given the chance to experience hope through music.
Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africa, orphaned by HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease.
Members of Greyfriars Church are hosting the children and leaders in their homes during their stay.
The concert begins at 7pm and entry is free, but an offering for the work of the choir will be taken during the event. The concert is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome.
“We are looking forward to the concert and are grateful for all the people who have given of their time and effort in making it possible,” said the Rev. Bryan Kerr.
