End of an era for Wyndales House hotel in Symington

A CHAPTER in the history of Clydesdale’s social life and tourism industry has closed with one of the area’s most prestigious hotels, Wyndales near Symington, now certain to never open to the public again.

An application to convert the 96-year-old building into three separate private homes has gone to South Lanarkshire Council from a Dalkeith property company, Oakridge.

The news is certain to cause a pang of nostalgia among many families, for whom it was a popular venue for everything from Sunday lunches to weddings for over thirty years.
