Members of Coalburn Silver Band are celebrating having finished second in a hard-fought contest.
Also celebrating is trombone player Kyle McCorquodale, who had the best performance of the day.
Carluke High pupil Kyle (16) was delighted to have picked up his award.
He added: “The piece that I had to play was quite challenging in some parts so I was really pleased to have been given the award by the adjudicators.
“I started playing about four years ago in the bronze band before moving up to playing with the seniors and I really enjoy it.
“Playing in the band is great. It’s the best level we have played at for a long time.
“I’m hopeful that when I leave school I will be doing a musical course at college or university.”
