A CARLUKE singing star is aiming to hit the big time having qualified for the next stage of a talent competition.

Siobhan O’Neill, from Stonefield Gardens, has made it through to the regional finals of the TeenStar contest in Glasgow.

The Motherwell College student and former St Aidan’s High pupil is now in with a chance of reaching the national final and performing at the iconic O2 Arena in London.

Sixteen-year-old Siobhan, who sang Hometown Glory by Adele at her audition, said: “There were roughly 250 people auditioning and less than 20 people made it through to the final so I was really pleased.

“Adele is one of my favourite singers, along with Beyonce, and I really like singing her songs.

“The regional final is in April and I’m really hoping that I can make it through; to sing at somewhere like the O2 would be a dream.”
