A BIGGAR model maker has unveiled six stunning Charles Rennie Mackintosh architectural models for a new exhibition.

Brian Gallagher officially unveiled the specially commissioned pieces at the University of Glasgow’s Hunterian Art Gallery earlier this month for the new exhibition which opens later this week.

The six models form part of The Hunterian’s special exhibition, Mackintosh Architecture, and realise in three dimensions six unbuilt projects by Mackintosh for an artist’s house in the town, an artist’s house in the country, three proposals for a gate lodge, and an unidentified house in Kilmacolm.

The 55-year-old said: “I’ve been working on this project for the past six months.

“Mackintosh buildings are unique so they take a lot of time to put together.

“On one building I counted that only six windows were the same so it’s quite a challenge for me but I love it.”
