NHS Lanarkshire shatters Covid myths
NHS Lanarkshire has been working with members of the local community to create videos to dispel the myths around the Covid-19 vaccine.
The videos feature members of our ethnic minority communities, Lanarkshire Carers and NHS staff.
They focus on the key messages raised by local communities that they feel may be stopping people from receiving the vaccine.
Isbah Khan, Lanarkshire Carers BAME carers services and equalities co-ordinator, said: “It has been a delightful experience to have worked in partnership with NHS Lanarkshire and members of the local BAME community to support a better understanding of the Covid-19 vaccination.
"The co-operation and support provided by the community representatives has been commendable and made the project possible.
“The response to the videos has been fabulous and has played its role in addressing concerns about the misinformation targeted via social media and encouraging uptake of the vaccination in our communities .”
The videos are available in Urdu, Punjabi and English and are available on NHS Lanarkshire’s You Tube channel at www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmgTOJmBpGB7TlX4reN3KC0eMgS7fey1 P.
Anyone attending vaccination centres who may need an interpreter now has has easy access to more than 200 languages via the LanguageLine app available on iPads.
